WHAT IS A PUPPET?
Wolfe Bowart
with SpoonTree Productions is a master of physical theatre.  Wolfe and his partners Xochitl Martinez  and Carlisle Ellis will scatter several imaginative vignettes exploring the world of puppetry.  They will incorporate hand shadows, chicken heads, and toasters. Enjoyed by audiences the world over, Wolfe’s shows are theatrical experiences that evoke thought, wonder, and laughter — a joyful celebration of oddity, creating dreamlike sequences that inspire delight.

TURTLE GIRL
Turtle Girl by Lisa Sturz of Red Herring Puppets is based on a whimsical poem by the late Danny Solis, a well-known SLAM POET LAUREATE from the spoken word community.  Lisa and Amelie Allen employ a variety of quirky found object marionettes manipulated inside a toy theatre/side show tent.  Red Herring Puppets has worked with Jim Henson, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney’s Imagineering, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and many more.

MORALITY GAME SHOW
Morality Game Show by Brandon Leatherland is a one-man/one-puppet comedy. The piece builds from trivial questions to modern philosophical dilemmas.

PSYCHO SARAH
Psycho Sarah is a tale of navigating mental illness, addiction, and recovery through theatre and puppetry. Sarah MacMillan and a cast of puppets representing Lithium, Depression, PTSD, and anxiety present an excerpt from a larger work by playwright Toni Press-Coffman. Sarah’s early encounters with drugs, alcohol, and trauma erupt at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts as Sarah tries to reason with her psychiatric medication. She is joined by puppeteers Kat McIntosh, Yolie Contreras, Tamara Cauthen, and Amelie Allen. Puppet sequences are directed by Lisa Sturz. Ezequial Marin Folgoso built the puppets.

SANDUNGA
Sandunga is a soulful song recorded by Las Azaleas, a Tucson-based female mariachi band.  The piece features a ten-foot Calavera Katrina puppet which was featured in the 2021 All Souls Finale! Puppeteers are Zachary Austin, Maria Hays, and Lisa Sturz.

Z PUPPETS ROSENSCHNOZ ACT
Puppets Rosenschnoz are joining us from Minneapolis. Shari and Chris are consummate professional puppeteers and clowns.
[Information on their act coming soon!

THE AFTERLIFE with BONY TONY
This is the show everyone is dying to see! Dealing with the taboo topic of death, Bony Tony brings his bonehead humor and charm to lighten your grief. Hand and rod puppets  and animated backgrounds performed by Phoenix-based Imaginology, Nathan Greene and David Dupree

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Composer, musician, and puppeteer Kevin Larkin will premiere his musical and philosophical sketch exploring what happens when traditional puppets turn to AI to broaden their scope.

ROWBY
Rowby is a loveable alien puppet created and operated by Lisa Sturz of Red Herring Puppets.  As Master of Ceremonies, Rowby will introduce many of the acts and offer some insights of his/her own. He/she may even play the bagpipes with the help of Jehanne Eily.
