At the Scoundrel & Scamp, we aim to support teachers' efforts to enhance students' arts literacy by providing substantially discounted tickets for teachers and students and by providing convenient matinee performance times for student field trips.

Consider joining us for our 2022-23 Matinees for Schools program, featuring shows for students of all ages!

Matinee tickets are $10 per student, chaperone, or teacher. Seating is limited - book early to reserve your date!

Attending our theater is an experience in itself. Conveniently located just off 4th Avenue within The Historic Y, our proscenium-style mainstage is a state-of-the-art performance space.

Pooh

December 4 - December 11, 2022

A.A. Milne's timeless and beloved characters are brought to life in this whimsical new adaptation. Join Pooh, Piglet, and their friends in the Hundred Acre Wood! Through their many adventures, the forest-dwellers face the challenges and earn the triumphs that come along with growth, friendship, acceptance, and the courage it takes to not only face one's fears, but also to ask for help.

Recommended for ages 5+.

Runtime: Approximately 75 minutes.

Brontë

February 16 - March 5, 2023

In 1845, Branwell Brontë returns home to his sisters in disgrace, plagued by his addictions and the scandals in which he is mired. As he descends into alcoholism and insanity, bringing chaos to the household, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne plot… and write. Polly Teale's extraordinary play evokes the real and imagined worlds of the Brontës, as the fictional characters come to haunt their creators.

Recommended for ages 15+.

One Twig at a Time

April 13 - April 30, 2023

Found object puppetry, poetic visual theater, humor, pathos, drought, flood, over-abundance and the vacuum of space are explored in an inspiring and heartfelt new ensemble work by visual storyteller Wolfe Bowart. One Twig explores community via a series of visual poems drawn from notebooks the theater-maker has filled over the years with abstract sketches, dreams and theatrical images.

Recommended for ages 5+.
