Maestro Rodarte directed his private studio out of Denver, Colorado offering individual and group training in Spanish dance, flamenco and the bolero school. He offers fall, spring and summer sessions including workshops. His craftsmanship as a teacher and a coach has been highly valued by the University of New Mexico where he has taught for the past 12 years as adjunct professor. Founder and Director of the School of Flamenco & Spanish Dance and Company (Dance Espana), Mr. Rodarte has dedicated 40 years of his life to the art of Flamenco and Spanish Dance. He has also performed and taught in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Australia and the United States of America.

This workshop is is open for adults and teens, no dance training necessary.

Introduction to Flamenco is an eight session beginning course introducing the basic elements involved in Flamenco Dance, a brief history, the basic rhythms, and it's architecture .

The course will focus on the simplest of it's dance forms, "Tangos". All participants will learn multi-tasking that is footwork , body placement , arm and head movement and hand clapping , known as "palmas".

No previous dance training is necessary and all attending will gain self-confidence.

Long skirts, loose clothing and leather shoes are advisable.

The course is open to ages 12 years to adult and it's aim is to instill enjoyment and pleasure that the peoples of southern Spain so dearly cherish.
