The S&S presents:

Little One-Inch

One day only on July 1!

Little One-Inch is a popular Japanese story in the same vein as the English Tom Thumb and the Danish Thumbelina.

Little One-Inch tells the tale of a tiny child who, despite his size, possesses enormous intelligence, bravery, and heart. The life and adventures of Little One-Inch are full of magic, love, and the conviction that a little person can achieve great things.

This solo tour-de-force is performed by Red Herring Puppets’ Artistic Director Lisa Sturz, who has over forty years of experience in film, theatre, educational settings, and special events. Lisa has worked with Jim Henson Productions, Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm, NBC, PBS, Lyric Opera of Chicago and many more. Her production of Aesop’s Fables earned an UNIMA citation – the highest honor in American puppetry.

Audiences love Little One-Inch!

"The children were mesmerized.  Several parents commented that this was the best puppet show they'd ever seen, highly professional, and absolutely fabulous."
- Pam Bloom, Rowan County Libraries

"I loved the story, puppets, scenery, moving water, your many voices….  I brought my mom who lived in Japan for a couple years and taught English after she retired. She’s 97 and is hard of hearing and she could hear it and enjoyed the whole show — so thanks for a lovely afternoon that’s not just for kids!"
 Bette Bates, Warren Wilson College

"I have gotten lots of rave reviews about Little One-Inch from our patrons and staff.  I loved watching a fidgety group of kids sit completely still and mesmerized by your beautiful show.  The sets, props, and puppets were amazing, as was the story.  Thank you so much for the great experience."
- Wendy B. Rancier, Youth Services, Roanoke County Public Library

"I brought my children to the Handley Library in Winchester VA today and watched you perform Little One-Inch. You did an awesome job and we were intrigued by your multiple talents (voice variation, props, color scheme). Keep up the great work! "
-  Robin Link

"Thank you SO much for coming to the Harrisburg Library with your puppets last week. I was not expecting the level of creativity and professionalism that you brought that day! Keeping all of those children's attention is not an easy task but you made it look easy! Your show was imaginative, creative, lively and funny. You are a very gifted puppeteer."
